Wall Art Feature: Poshtots.com

I stumbled upon the site Posh Tots  which has wonderful artwork for nurseries (as well as many other decor items). Below is a sampling of some of the charming art work that they provide, which may be just what you need to add that final element to your nursery!

Black is the new black! Black Vision Board

Some may think that black is too dark or morbid to use for a baby nursery, but I disagree. The shade is timeless, and has a chic and simplistic feel to it. Use a pattern like Toile or Damask to add a familiar feel.

I love that black is so versatile. Add any solid colour to this black and white scheme to add some extra flair with  a punchy bright like pink, red or lime green(as shown above). Also consider adding a vibrant colour or calming hue on the walls of the nursery to infuse some dimension in the space!

The majority of the items shown are available at IKEA for very reasonable prices.

Yellow and Pink Nursery Vision Board

This vision board was created for a primarily white and yellow nursery, with pink accents. Having a boy? Replace the pink accents with brown, blue or green to achieve a similar look. Gender neutral? Save the accent colour until after the baby is born!

The majority of the items shown are available at IKEA for very reasonable prices. Challenge yourself to design a nursery with budget friendly items!

Yellow Nurseries!

Yellow is a fabulous colour for a nursery! It's a great shade to use when you are aiming for a gender neutral space. What colour better evokes the feeling of sunshine, happiness and serenity? Yellow is definitely one of my favourite colour selections for a baby's space.

A Lovely Feminine Nursery with "Re-purposed" items?

The thing that I love about this space  is that the only item that looks like it was purchased specifically for the nursery is the crib. From the charming chandelier lighting and beautiful "French provincial" inspired dresser and mirror, to the corner table holding a plant. The pieces in this room look like they could have come from other places in the house, and could later be used in other spaces.

Don't be afraid to think outside of the box and "re-purpose" items that you already own, for use in the nursery. A quick priming and paint job may be all that is needed to make that already owned piece flow beautifully in your baby's new room!

Where have all the good photos gone?

I saw book about baby nurseries at my local bookstore, and thought "surely I can find all of these great ideas online". When I Googled "baby nursery" out of curiosity, I surprised at the potential that there is to create a useful tool for expectant mothers who are interested in seeing ideas for designing a beautiful nursery at an affordable price.

Welcome to Baby Decor Blog, stay tuned for ideas on how to decorate the place where you will soon be spending a significant amount of your time.

Please note that the ideas posted were taken from the wonderful interweb. I have taken the time to sort through what stands out to me as good nursery ideas. :-)
